Our Aims

At Red Balloon Norwich, our core objective is to elevate the academic attainment and progress of students eligible for Pupil Premium funding, enabling them to perform on par with their non-Pupil Premium peers. However, we recognize that measuring progress goes beyond academic success alone. We also evaluate students’ social and emotional development, as well as their effort and engagement in their education.

Our students face complex barriers to attainment due to their social, emotional, and mental health needs. Poor attendance, additional special educational needs, traumatic experiences, family relationship breakdowns, cultural, social, financial concerns, and health issues all impact our students’ ability to engage in learning effectively.

At Red Balloon Norwich, we assess progress from each student’s point of entry, utilizing previous information and baseline assessments to establish a starting point. We are confident in providing every student with a personalized opportunity to reach their full potential and address inequalities in the education of students from low-income families.
